Action Cancer says ‘Thank You’ to Johnsons Coffee for raising over £210,000

Action Cancer staff recently visited Johnsons Coffee for a training day and took the opportunity to say ‘Thank You’ to Johnsons Coffee for all their efforts in raising over £210,000 for the charity, over the past three years. Dougie King, Head of Fundraising & Communications at Action Cancer made the presentation to Philip Mills, Group Sales Director.

Dougie commented, “We are very grateful to everyone at Johnsons Coffee who have helped raise this tremendous amount through sponsorship of our Paint The Town Pink campaign.

As a result, we have provided 2,600 free breast cancer screening sessions for women in Northern Ireland. Most of those women have been reassured that they do not have the disease. However, we have also detected 15 breast cancers in women at an early and more treatable stage. So, with Johnsons Coffee support we have saved lives of local women and look forward to doing so in the months and years to come.”

Philip Mills, Group Sales Director at Johnson Brothers commented, “Johnsons Coffee is a local roaster and part of the local community, so we are delighted to help such a worthy cause and the great work done by Action Cancer in Northern Ireland.”

Johnsons Coffee helps ‘Paint the Town Pink’ again

Johnsons Coffee have one again agreed to support Action Cancer in their ‘Paint the Town Pink’ campaign and alongside it’s patron Gloria Hunniford, are asking local shops and organisations throughout Northern Ireland to Paint the Town Pink and raise funds for our life saving breast screening service throughout the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In the past year, Action Cancer has screened a record 10,787 women and they aim to do the same again this year, but need your help.

While their breast screening service is entirely free of charge to their users, each breast screening costs Action Cancer £80, and therefore they are asking that every business who comes on board with Paint the Town Pink, makes a real effort to raise a minimum of £80.

Johnsons Coffee are providing the coffee for each Paint the Town Pink fundraising box of goodies and hope that as many people as possible will hold their own #PTTP event. This appeal is great fun and a brilliant way to engage your staff and customers.
